Visits to school
Parents/carers who are interested in their child attending our school are welcome to make arrangements to visit the school.
All visitors to the school (including parents/carers) must report to the Reception Desk (inside the front door) on arrival, and not go straight to classrooms, etc.
Parents/carers are reminded that, for security purposes, they are not permitted to enter the building through any other door.
CAR PARKING
Parents/carers using cars to bring their children to school, and to collect them at the end of the day, present particular problems to everyone using the school site. Staff and Governors urge all those who can to walk their children to school. This will make Frizlands Lane area much safer to use and will ease congestion before and, especially, after school.
Those who do collect their children by car are reminded that the school car park is not to be used for waiting/turning, etc., except for a very small number of people who have gained the express permission of the Headteacher to do so.
Bays are now provided in the car park, including a disabled bay.
ENTRY / EXIT
Children should only enter and leave the school site by one of the designated pedestrian gates and not by the car park gate which is used by vehicles.
The front (main) door of the school is only to be used by those who have business at the office; it is not an entrance/exit for children, who should use doors leading directly to/from the playground.
MEETING CHILDREN
The gate to the playground is locked shortly after 8.55am and not opened until 3.05pm. A waiting area is provided and we ask parents/carers not to wait outside classrooms but in this area.
Parents/carers and others meeting children should not go to classrooms or enter other parts of the building.
Children are not permitted to leave the building through the main (front) door.
It is essential that children always know their arrangements for going home (i.e. who is meeting them, etc.) They should be fully aware of any changes to normal arrangements; to avoid any confusion the School Office should also be informed of any changes.
Children who are unexpectedly not met after school must report to a member of staff as quickly as possible. They will then wait in safety inside the entrance lobby. Please meet your child promptly after school.
HELP IN SCHOOL
Your help during school time is very welcome, especially if you can offer it on a regular basis each week. There are however, always some jobs needing to be done if you can only spare an occasional hour. Your help can be used for painting, printing, model making, technology, cooking etc. The list is endless! Carers, dads, mums, grandads and grans are all welcome. Extra help is always valued when going on school trips. Parents/Carers who help in school or on trips must comply with a 'police check' for reasons of safety.
