School Meals

School meals are cooked on the premises and served at lunchtime in the school hall. We run a cash cafeteria. This allows children to have a wide choice of food. The kitchen and the midday assistants do try to ensure that the children choose a properly balance meal.

Children may, if required, bring a packed lunch. This should be suitably packed in a plastic container. Drinks, as part of the packed lunch, may be brought to school but must be in a safe plastic container. No glass containers, glass filled thermos flasks or cans are permitted for reasons of safety.
Pupils having a school lunch or a packed sandwich lunch are not allowed off the premises during the midday break except at the written request of parents. Every care should be taken to ensure that pupils are adequately supervised at lunchtime and your co-operation is valued in this respect.

Your child may be entitled to free meals at school. If you think this is the case you are advised to enquire at the Education Office, Town Hall, Barking, where the appropriate application form is available.

If you pay for your child's meals, you should do this on a daily basis. The money should be brought to school in an envelope clearly labelled with your child's name and class.
